  1. i would say (as gross as this sounds) chopped up worms

  2. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly. You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it. If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest. Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched. If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival. Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own. Look for a rehab here:

  3. Leaving him be is the best thing you can do.  He will suffer & die if you try and "save" him by administering inexperienced handfeeding methods.

You can very easily choke him if you even so little as put the eyedropper in his beak to feed him in the wrong position, or during the wrong second.  You must be thouroughly trained before you can hanfeed baby birds.

Simply place him outside in a warm, safe & shaded place and another bird will come by and foster him.

  4. try small worms u can buy them at a pet store or at some type of fishing store. They sell it as bait. Or if he doesnt eat that try buying some small bird seeds

  5. NEVER feed worms.  Never put liquid in a birds mouth. Please contact a wildlife rehabber to take the birds.  You cannot legally have blackbirds.

If you need to feed them then they need to be fed a dog food based diet.  Use the end of a stir stick or a straw cut to a spoon.

Put them in a box lined with paper towel or something soft and cover with a towel.  If they are unfeathered then they need to be on a heating pad and fed every 20-30 minutes, starting to feather then they can be fed every 45 minutes.

Please read my profile and follow the links to the Starling Talk  website, you will find  a lot of help there.

I will check back to see how it is going and if you need more info.

    Good Luck!!!

It is illegal to raise wild birds unless they are the non-native House Sparrow, European Starling or Pigeon BUT it is not illegal to rescue an orphaned or injured bird....
