What do i feed my turtle??

Question

i found a turtle on the rode and i want to keep him but i have know idea what to feed him!! he seems to like apple alot but apples are expensive here and hes not drinking any water that i know of.

what kinds of food do i feed him???

and how do i get him to drink water??

hes a Yucatan box turtle.

please return the turtle to the same area in which you found it.  wild-caught turtles do not make good pets and you are going to kill it if you try to keep it.

you should go to your local pet store or petco or something and tell them your situation and they should recomend different kinds of turtle food. Good luck!

try anything and everything. my turtle likes bananas, pears, eggs (cooked, of course) earthworms, peas.... stuff like that. don't attempt to force him to eat, or put excessive amounts of food down, or it will start to rot. you can visit a pet store and get food and advice there.Also, turtles don't drink noticeable amounts. Fill a 9x9 cake pan with water. (make sure it can get out) change the water in the morning and night. they will p**p in their water, so you need to change it 2 times daily.

usually they'll eat corn and also lettuce (iceberg) too at least my tortoise really enjoyed it and it was fine for him to eat
