  1. turtle food at pet supplies

  2. be careful, some turtles cause infection.

  3. turtles like veggies. My sister has a turtle and he always gets some sort of salad. So feed him salad, and keep him in a cage with some sort of heat lamp.

  4. Dear Princess,

Use your favorite search engine and punch up turtle identification. This will bring you up to a bunch of different sites and I'm sure you will be able to find a picture of your little guy somewhere. Please be aware that some species of turtles are protected by law and you may want to check with your state's fish & wildlife regulations before making this your pet. I would hate to see you get into trouble for doing a nice thing like helping out a turtle. Best of luck!!!

  5. feed him some lettuce and grapes, they like those.

  6. Feed him sausage and grits, they love southern home cooking.

  7. Go to your local pet store and ask them. I used to have one too and I fed it turtle food. If you cant go till tomorrow the just give him some cereal and water. GOOD LUCK

  8. one: you are a very great person for saving that turtle

and two: http://www.petturtle.com/feeding.htm go onto that should help you.

If it doesnt, go to your local pet store and talk to the people for help upon the turtle's species and diet, for it can variy. You should give it a proper home too, if not help it find a family who will :)

  9. Ok, that is an aquatic turtle and they grow up to 12 inches! It is just a baby, trust me it is to much responcibility, and the turtle supplies to keep it cost hundreds of diollars! You woulod need to get a 75 gallon tank, a large size basking dock, fill up the tank with water almost to the top, put a basking light over the top, put an expensive uvb light fixture next to it, since turtles love to bask, and those light fixtures together cost $100! you would also need a heater, an expensive filter, and thermometers and medication and calcium and sooooooooooooooooooooo much more. Trust me put it back where you found it, by a stream somewhere not to far from where you found it. The turtle will thank you for being released back to its home!

  10. Boy oh boy, have you gotten a line of (mostly) bad advice. Baby turtles need a high-protein diet: live earthworms, fishes (NOT goldfish), and soft-bodied insects. When you can't get live food, cut liver into strips and dust them in bonemeal.

Hold of on plant material until the turtle is older. Don't feed head lettuce. Feed dark green leafy vegetables and bits of sweet potato.

Get a field guide to figure out what kind of turtle you have so you can find out how to care for it properly.

  11. if he's semi aquatic, feed him small feeder fish, crickets,  leafy greens NO iceburg lettuce, feed him romaine lettuce and collard greens, also commercial turtle pellets.. it would help to know what type of turtle it is.   find out and reaserch  his type. also,  semi aquatic turtles need a good water filter, a LARGE  tank or outdoor pond" a UVB lamp "if he's indoors"  a basking lamp,  a place to bask.  also a water heater is highly recommended.

  12. feed it mash up leaf

  13. feed him lettuce

and make him a fruit salad...yummy yummy

  14. honey.

  15. Feed it turtle food!

  16. the pet store sells turtle food but lettuce is ok 2

  17. Can't answer this until the species is identified.  Diet can vary quite a bit.  Most species need a basking heat lamp, UVB lighting, large tanks or enclosures, and a variety of food items.  Check here to try to identify and learn about care:

  18. hatchlings need a protien based diet. for the time being go to a pet store and purchase either mazauri aquatic turtle diet, rep-cal aquatic turtle food or reptomin floating sticks. feed as much as can fit in the turtle's head if it were hollow once a day. you can also feed it bloodworms, feeder minnows and earth worms.

if it is aquatic like you think then it needs water to eat the food. aquatic turtles lack saliva to swallow food so they require water to help swallow.

you can go to http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/ca... to try to figure out what type of turtle it is.

**ideally you'll want to release the little bugger back to his wild home. turtles can grow to be very large and are pretty expensive to keep happy.
