Absolutely nothing.  One of the hardiest of all perennials.

usually fertilizing daylillies once in early spring is enough for the whole year....in reasonably fertile soil

...if you have leachy type clay soil, then perhaps you can give fertilizer 2 or 3 times, 2-3 months apart, in wamr regions with long growing seasons

.....the biggest problem i ever had wa the 'special' aphids that attacked the daylillies....and kelthane kills daylillies and soaps dont seem to effect these special aphids....!!!

...so check out the products and familiarize which one you will choose, just as proactive knowledge

...otherwise , i  do tend to mulch going into winter

...plant in spring....not hot summer, or early winter...the bulds without roots will rot either way

....other wise I think they're easy

Really not much, daylillies are among the most easy perennial plants, they come back reliably without much effort.  Here's a link to everything you could possibly need to know about them:

Daylillies are pretty self-sufficient!  After summer is over and the leaves turn yellow and start to flop, I generally cut mine down to about 3-6 inches high and dispose of the foliage and remaining scapes <flower stalks>

It makes for a neater winter appearance and easier spring clean up.  It also reminds you where the plant is located!

A neat thing to do with day lilies is to plant spring blooming bulbs amongst them.  Things like crocus and daffodils are great!  After the spring bloomers go by, and their foliage is dying back, the new foliage of the day lily comes up around them.  You can easily extend the season of that bed by doing this double duty planting!
