  1. Check with a Boy Scout. They have a good list right in their hand book. It might even be on line or in the library. They do a lot on camping in all sorts of conditions and in all seasons.

  2. all the answers are good and to add:

    You know you have to have the standard tent,sleeping bags,cooking utensils,etc. but really the number 1 thing you should take on your camping trip that should be at the top of your list is the first aid kit.

    When camping there is always bee stings , burns, scratches,cuts, bruises. and sunburns,etc.

  3.     *  Sleeping bag

        * backpacking tent

        * lightweight food for 3 days (not hard to do!)

        * an extra change of cloths

        * A good pair of hiking boots

        * A mess kit (knife fork and spoon set) and A good stainless nesting cook set.

        * A decent pocket knife : Get a REAL Swiss Army knife (locking blade kind if possible)

        * A sheath knife: Something name brand , (Gerber, Cold Steel, Buck, Case) DON'T SKIMP ON THIS

        * A good Internal or External Frame backpack

        * A fishing pole and one of those mini tackle boxes with some weights, lures, snells, hooks etc. (nice to have)

        * 3 ways to start a fire: Bic Lighters, Metal Match, Matches in a waterproof container

        * a rifle, pistol or shotgun (if you are an adult)

        * your Gerber or Leatherman Multi-tool

        * a pair of work gloves

        * A wide brim hat

        * Complete change of clothing including a long sleeved shirt, long pants and sturdy boots. Consider additional clothing if you live in a cold weather climate

        * Contractor grade trash bags (shelter material

        * A Machete or hatchet

        * Topographical maps

        * Compass

        * Paper and pencil

  11. That depends on what you like, also depending in what kind of camping your going to do. If your going to a campground where they have all the amenities like, electric, water, showers and such,bring some normal things from home, pots and pans, utensils, dish detergent, foil, saran wrap. there are many other things you might want to take along as well, check this out...

    If your going to go camping right out in the middle of no where, you will probably need different things, like bottled water,or five gallon water jugs, a battery charger or some kind of a power inverter to supply electric if you want.I'm sure if your going in the middle od somewhere , you will need your car to get there and can use your cigarette lighter to your advantage, thats where the power inverter comes in handy.
