  1. meditate on having your butt kicked

  2. Meditating might be able to help, but there are lots of other things you could do too...

    1. Try playing some fun sports that require good reaction speeds..such as ping-pong, squash, etc.

    2. Try partner work and learn to spot forecasting...

These are just a few ideas...

    Good luck!

  3. Zen meditation might help.

Basically, you focus on your breath and keep your attention focused on it.

Martial artists often do it while sitting in seiza, because that position tends to be uncomfortable for westerners. So it helps learning to ignore pain and to develop flexibility.

But Zen meditation is just that: Concentrate on the breath.

It can help keep you awake and increase your attention span. You'd be less likely to get distracted or to have your mind wander off at the wrong moment.

  4. Oh man! I have the same problem! Without thinking I snatch birds right out of the air as they try to fly by. And I feel so bad that people get headaches watching me move at blurringly fast speeds! And when I was shot and came back to life and blew up Mr. Smith people were like, "No way!"...

Step out of the backyard mma with your buddies and up to a hardcore training facility and you definitely won't be meditating on decreasing your reaction time.

    Good luck!

  5. why would you want to decrease your reaction time?? to get hit more???  fighting aint for you

  6. if your decreasing the time it takes to block, ur increasing ur reaction time. i think u might want to re post this question and change decrease to increase.

  7. I would focus more on praticing with another person or trying to be faster than the guy in the mirror. If meditationis your only way to improve your reaction time I would meditate on being faster.
