What do i if my guinea pig is bleeding from the private.?

  1. it may have a stone, if it is going pee it should pass within a hour or so. The urine means there isnt a blockage.

    If it is still there in the morning take him/her to your vet. Look on guinealynx.com in the meantime at this page.

  2. This is not normal. Neither male nor female guinea pigs should ever bleed from their 'private areas'. This is a sign of something such as stone or UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), and the guinea pig needs to be taken to a vet immediately. If there is no wound that the guinea pig is bleeding from, take him/her to the vet now! Otherwise it could become serious, and possibly even fatal. Make sure the guinea pig goes to an exotic vet, not your run-of-the-mill cat or dog vet.
