  1. A pike, silly

  2. Yes, wire traces for pike fishing, if you use mono it will simply bite straight through it, i also suggest a reel with a quality drag, big pair of forceps and a heavy action rod to crank them in. Live baits work best in my opinion, whilst ive only had a small amount of success with lures.

  3. If you are casting and retrieving, I recommend a 2/5 to 3/4 ounce Little Cleo. Any color is fine. Also use a 6-12 inch steel leader so it cant break the line.

For a rod, I recommend an ugly stick; or any medium action rod.

  4. For pike fishing i would use a wire trace with two treeble hooks attatched to it and use a live roach if you are allowed to use live baits. You could also fit a float to the line or just cast out with the trace and freeline the bait

May be visit a local tackle shop to pick up some advise and tackle.

  5. heavy action rod, preferably a baitcaster reel and pitching stick rod 6.5 - 7 footer it takes long casts and I would use braided line instead of a mono and I too would have about ten different top water buzz baits with and without clackers and I would throw and retrieve all day. If you go to crankbaits you have to go with fast retreive long narrow small bill baits and watch as the pike comes up on it don't slow the retreive down actually speed it up and you will increase your catches to misses percentages
