  1. why didn't you ask the teacher?

  2. What kind of role are you playing? I'm in charge of the make up at my school's productions (because guys are incompetent when it comes to makeup for the most part and most of the girls don't know how much stage makeup is needed) so I will usually be working on make-up for over two hours each day in addition to my own. I have a base that is about 2 shades darker than my natural skin color (don't go too dark or you'll just look stupid) I have a brown pencil; a black pencil; pink, red and brown blush; about 20 different shades of eyeshadow; Red in all shades lipstick, and translucent powder. The powder is to keep your make-up from melting off on stage. I have a tube of black mascara (I don't use it, but if I am doing the girls' make-up) and depending on the show I have spray-in hair dyes and special effect make-up (scars, etc).

  3. In general, it makes a lot of sense that any make up you use on stage needs to be heavier, and darker.  This is because you are going to be under extremely bright lights, which have a tendency to wash people out. So, very light everyday make up will not do.

There is a brand that I have used called "Cinema Secrets".  I used it a lot with pageants for on stage events.  But I hear it is used a lot with stage performances, and movie production videography.   There is a web site, and you can order a catalog and then decide which products you need most for your coloring. It is definitely a must to have darker defined cheeks, and dark black eye liner!
