What do i need to breed lovebirds in an aviary?

i have 6 lovebirds what can i do to help them breed plz help

  1. Lovebirds are usually very prolific. Take a shoe box, completely close it with electrician's tape (it won't last forever) make a nice size hole in the side of the box with the flap on the outside like a draw bridge, then hang it up in your aviary, with a branch or twig underneath to give support.  If you have 6 birds, you will need at least 2.  You must supply grass, paper or twigs, etc. for them to fill the box.  You will soon notice that 1 or 2 are missing;  They have started to make their nests. Be sure to have a vitamin block for them, this helps make their shells.


  2. make sure their in pairs of 2 and that the 2 birds in the pair actually get along with eachother. put the pairs in seperate breeding cages and that should help.
