  1. If you are going to be in Italy for a longer period, and do not take other things for which you need a converter, you might want to buy the Ipod charger in Italy.

Ipods are the same, so it will fit, and you can be sure that is works with the local power and fits in the local sockets.

  2. You will need to buy a charger in the US and then an adapter when you get there so the plug will fit into the wall.

  3. You need a voltage converter (US uses 110, Italy uses 220, so if you don't have one you'll fry the iPod).

    You need a plug adapter.

You need an iPod charger.  Here's an example (it's incredibly cheap, so there may be problems with this particular model, but you could search for another type):

  4. if you're staying for a longer time buy a plug charger in italy, that way you won't burn your ipod for sure.

If you're going for a shorter period, well why don't you charge it it one of those internet coffee shops? It's gonna be cheaper if you're not staying for a long time.
