What do i need to do about getting my GED?

so, me and my mom got into a fight, and she kicked me out, im 17, so i moved to tyler to live with my boyfriend, i still havent withdrew from my high school, and they start in a week, and im under a lot of stree so i dont think i can go back to school this year, i'll be a senior, but i dont need the stresses of school, so i decided to get a full time job, and im gonna get my GED. so what do i need to do when getting it?

  1. well as far as your high school goes, they automatically withdraw you in 10 days i think...it depends on your states attendance policy. and as far as you gettin a GED just go to an adult education program and its cool they find ways to work around your schedule. but see about the GED program first and then work after you find out the hours. or you could possibly look on the net for a GED practice test and see what kind of questions you could be expecting and if you know most of the material you can just go ahead and take the test right away. and you can start going to a technical college. good luck sweetie

You contact the school district where you are--usually the adult education department will administer the GED.  Otherwise, contact the local community college for information.  If you call the nearest One-Stop Career Center (often run by the state or county department of labor), they will also have information and may possibly be able to help you with training programs.  

  3. You need to find a school in your area that test you for the GED.
