What do i need to do in order to become a HVAC technician?

i'm graduating this year 2009 and i want to do HVAC

where should i start off at?

Hi, there are lots of different jobs under the heading HVAC.

A lot depends on what you want to be, if you are keen on Electrical stuff get into Building Management Systems, Have a word with some Controls people TAC, TREND, HONEYWELL, and there are lots of small Co's doing this sort of work.And there's the opertunaty to do software writing for the control af plant.

Or if you fancy Mechanical work there's A/C enginerring thers always demand for good Enginers, Then theres Air & and Water Eng.

I alwaye think it best to try to get a job you have a "bent" for as this helps you get a bit more enjoyment from it!!

how about sweltering in a 150 degree attic in the summer time, with your work pants, work boots on , breathing in itchy insulation with your nose running, and working all day hunched over to get this piece of equipment fired up.
