A few weeks ago i hit a stump in my back yard, the lawn mower cut off immediately, now it is really hard to start it. When it runs it is really weak, when i go through thicker grass it starts to rattle and slow down and sometimes cuts off. If it cuts off from the thick grass the lawn mower locks up so i can't start it. The pull string won't move. So I let it rest then i go and turn the blade and then i am able to start it, but it takes for ever to start. What do i need to do to fix it

  1. most likely your crankshaft is bent.. it is cheaper to buy a new one....

  2. you have bent the shaft or sheared the square key between the flywheel and crankshaft.

  3. You bent the shaft or the blade. If it's the blade you can buy a replacement blade for it. But it actually sounds like the shaft is bent, it'll be cheaper to buy another mower. You have to watch where you are going, I know you have power in your hands and you think you can go over anything, but you can't.
