I have a 1994 honda civic with a blown motor and i also have a 1997 civic dx (both manual). I wanted to try to put a 97 civic motor into the 94 civic. I know they are both single cam is there anything special i have to do to make this work? like is there any obd2 to obd1 issues?

thanks in advance

  1. this sounds like a straight forward swap.

all u will need from the 97 is the block and head.

u will use everything else from the 94, Intake manifold (which is obd1),exhaust manifold,tranny,mounts,distributer,wirin... harnes,ecu.. evrything.. and just bolt and plug to 97 and your good.

Im not sure if the dizzy(distributer ) is a direct fit, but i think it is. but either way it will still bolt on but instead of using all 3 screws u might only need 1,as long as it holds it in place your good.

thers alot of help on topics like this on Honda-tech.com
