  1. here are some tips

you get what you pay for (always buy from CEA-compliant companies)

dont pay any attention to peak/max wattage- all you care about is RMS wattage

when you buy subs the DVC will give you more wiring options than SVC subs

if you want any real bass you need to look into subs that can handle at least 250watts RMS

make sure you get the correct size power/ground wires (heres a chart to help http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/S-cxHK...

if you dont change the radio you will need a "line output converter" to give your radio a set of RCA outputs http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/I...

more than likely if/when you add some subs you will need to upgrade the inside speakers because they will get drowned out

radios can power aftermarket speakers but their internal amplifiers are not powerful enough to play them at mid to higher volumes (they will be distorted- the main cause of speaker damage) you would need an external amp on them for best sound quality at any volume over halfway

as i said, ALWAYS buy from CEA-compliant companies (you will not be disappointed)

which means that the amps produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle the advertised RMS wattage

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)
