  1. 1. Your optometrist would probably advise you a brand that will suit your eyes. I use Soflens Toric and I think soft lenses are much more comfortable for me, but that depends on people.

    2. Yeah, it gives you a wider vision. Its also much safer when you play sports.

    3. If the brand of contacts is suitable for you, it wouldn't take long to adjust. It will feel like you're not even wearing it.

    4. Its winter here also but I wear contacts also. Its no big deal actually. If your eyes do get dry, just put some re-wetting drops on your eyes.

    5. Its definitely better if you don't swim with contacts in. Yeah, I wash my face and shower everytime I have contacts on. Just in case, I do it with my eyes close when my eyes are close to water.

  2. 1) I like the Accuvue Oasis brand and I've only worn the soft lenses

    2) your vision may not be any better than when you wear glasses but they will be a lot more comfortable

    3)  less than a week

    4) the cold doesn't bother my contacts but you will definitely need sunglasses

    5) I swim in mine, I just don't open my eyes under water.  I shower in them also.

I think you will like the freedom of wearing contacts.  I wouldn't recommend sleeping in them even if they are extended wear. I use rewetting drops some but my eyes tend to dry out easy.

    Good Luck

  3. i use specsavers brand, soft and hard- depends on your perscription i think. i use soft toric and they're fine.

it will be the same as your glasses or maybe bit less? not sure depends on perscription again.

it will take about 1 week to get used to them.. putting them in and out 1 time takes practice.

they may get bit sticky and you can feel them in when you've had them in for a long time, you eye drops that helps.

i got recommened not to get water on your contacts cause it may damage your contacts/eyes. dont risk it..

you'll get loads of info when you get given them and at your trial (:

    gd luck x
