What do i need to know about tattoos in australia?

Ok my partner has already got a tattoo and im considering gettin a few as i have always really really liked em. I got so many ideas that i want but i wanna know if there is anything i need to consider. Ive thought about work and all that. The fact that im S**t scared of needles doesnt help but i have a d**n good pain threshold.

Im in brisbane and wanna get some ideas on prices and what i need to consider?

Basically,

dependent upon where you get them in Australia or anywhere really, the price is usually rather expensive for bigger ones. Also, you need to take note of where you should be getting them. Whatever part of your body is sensitive, that would be where the needle would hurt the most. It's not smart to take any type of gas, drink alcohol or take any pills beforehand either because you need to be attentive during such and pills or beer can thin the blood which wouldn't be a pretty sight during. Just know that it doesn't hurt as much as people say but make sure to put whatever it is that the tattoo artist gives you on your new tattoo. If you don't then the tattoo will erase or it could infect.

There is also a type of liquid you need to put on it (not sure how frequently) to ensure it stays looking the same as it does your whole life from the day you just got it. Keep it clean =)
