Well I'm going to be doing a speech on Japan.

How do i introduce myself? (i know Boku wa namae Josh desu- is there an in depth way of introducing myself?)

What topics should i include that would be amusing?

  1. Long way of introducing yourself:

Hajimemashite, boku no namae wa Josh desu. [random facts about yourself like where you came from, what your hobbies are, what food you like].

    Yoroshiku onegai shimasu.

  2. You'll need a bit of acquaintance with Japanese grammar.  I would go for more of a "Boku ga Josshu to iu," if you don't want to sound stiff.

  3. you could start with the basics :)

name, age, country where you came from, likes and dislikes, small things you know about japan and some interesting pointers about you.

and lastly don't forget the "it's nice to meet you" part.

    "yoroshiku onegaishimasu"

the name part is also like this "boku no namae wa Josh desu" the one you wrote (above) is quite wrong.

I hope this helped you :)

  4. It's not "boku wa namae Josh desu" -- it's "Boku no namae wa Josh desu" or in Japanese, 「僕の名前はジョシュです。」

  5. Hi,

You are close with your introduction.

"Boku no namae wa Josh desu" with the "u" at the end of desu being silent, would be more correct.
