  1. You need to know...

    -What type

    -Color

-Brand (well that doesn't really matter unless the brand sucks)

-Whether its for rock, metal, or any other genre

  2. Go cheap!!! Pick out the best acoustic-electric guitar that you can afford. You can play an acoustic anywhere, then if you want to invest more in your musical adventure, you can invest in an amp.

  3. you need to learn how to pick

  4. you need to go to the music store and start playing the different guitars to get a feel for what you like, you can ask the help at the store any questions about each guitar.

  5. well you should start simple maybe get a STARcatsor by fender it is like a straticastor but less expensive but is great to have before moving up to bigger n better guitars

  6. Depends.

    Are you a beginner?

    If so, I'd recommend a six-string acoustic.

At Guitar Center, they are about 100 bucks.

The more challenging is a twelve-string acoustic, which can also be found at Guitar Center, for I don't know how much.

Once you've mastered both of those, I'd suggest trying the electric guitar.

  7. First - don't spend a LOT

You may not stick with it!

Second it should have fairly good action.

Action = Distance between the fretboard and the strings...

(the closer without buzzing the better)

    Next it should be comfortable...

It should have a good sound...

and it should be TRUE - intonation wise.

ask someone who plays to go with you

or ask a salesman in the the guitar department.

  8. * Buy an acoustic guitar

*Check out the quality of the guitar

*Check out the tune of the guitar

    That must probably it!

  9. Hey, im 13 too i turn 14 next february. ive been playing guitar for over a year now and can tell you that when buying a guitar the most important thing is to play the guitar(if u can) before you buy it and if you like the feel of the neck and the sound you should get it no matter what brand. if you dont know anything on guitar try playing this

    high e|---8--5-------------------------------...

            b| --------8--5----------------------------...

            g|----------------8--7--5---------------...

            d|--------------------------7--5--------...

            a|--------------------------------7-6-5-...

      low e|--------------------------------------...

then when you learn that learn to play it backwards

the lines represent strings(the bottom is the thickest string) and the numbers represent the fret number

  10. acoustic for country

electric for rock and roll   :)

wait... why are YOU buying YOUR bday present?
