  1. You will need a phone line or cable connection linked to a Broadband service provider. ) Or even a wireless Broadband Mobile connection however this is very expensive and slow)

    A wireless router/modem or a modem and separate router.

    The appropriate hardware in the PC either built in wireless capability or a Wireless card or USB connector

    You should then install all the drivers required for the various peices of hardware

    It is then possible to configure your networks to work a) internally, b) out to the World wide Web

  2. all you will need a is a wireless router that will broadcast the wireless signal.

  3. Simple; you have 2 options;

    - Buy a 'Wireless Router/Hub'. This connects directly to your phone line, and has a power supply so it can be in operation when your PC is off. Any device with W-Fi can then connect to it, or if your PC is near it, simply plug it in using a provided USB cable.

    For wireless laptops/gaming...

    - You could do as above, or buy a Wi-Fi USB dongle - it just plugs in your PC and shares your internet connection.

    Their are plenty of options!

  4. If you want more than one device PC / Laptop or whatever to use the wireless connection the best option would be a wireless router that supports 802.11g. This will replace any existing router you have. You will also need a wireless adaptor on any device that wants to use the wireless network. ( Almost all modern laptops come with this built in). If it isn't built in then a wireless adaptor that plugs into a USB Port Will do the job. If you already have a broadband connection you will need to swap the router on it with the wireless router. Make sure you obtain the necessary settings for the broadband connection from your service provider so that you can set up the broadband connection on your new wireless router. Finally when setting up the wireless part of the router make sure you select WAP OR WAP2 in security settings. You will also need to do this on the devices with the wireless adaptor and the wireless router and both will have to be configured with a common password / preshared key. Any other security settings on the wireless side are just not secure and people could use your wireless network o snoop on traffic you are sending or receiving via the wireless network. Finally if you don't yet have a broadband connection most service provides will provide a wireless router as part of the package to new customers. The same will apply if you change providers or if you are out of contract with your existing service provider they will often provide a wireless router if you extend your contract with them. Hope this helps

  5. wireless router

    the wireless adapter which goes into the side of the laptop, or plugs into the usb port on main computer.

    Hope i helped
