  1. This is the horse racing section.

  2. Hi,

Always wear a properly fitted ASTM/SEI certified equestrian riding helmet.

Wear boots designed for horseriding with a good heel to keep your foot from slipping through the stirrups. Not being able to get your foot free during a mishap is a terrifying experience and can result in the rider being dragged.

    Riding Breeches (Trousers).

    Comfortable T.shirt and/or riding jacket.

Riding gloves are also a good thing to wear.  Not only do they protect your hands and fingers from sores and blisters caused from rubbing on the reigns but they have grips which allow you to hold the reigns comfortably and the reigns will not slip out of your hands.  It also enables you to control your horse better.

  3. Tan riding breeches (Aviator is the best brand for  riding pants), a normal shirt is fine nothing too fancy. Tall boots or Short boots with half chaps. A crop or whip is always a good thing to have. Riding gloves with grips. A helmet. Troxel is the best halmet brand. You have to wear thin tall socks under ur boots.                                                                                                                                                                 And some people find it helpful to have a horse to ride!!!!!!!!! Jk!!!!!! Well, That's about it.

  4. A Horse

  5. If you have not started lessons yet I'd advise you not to bother buying any of the equipment until you are sure you want to continue.

Most riding schools will have hard hats for you to wear, so the main thing you need to worry about is your clothing.  Try to wear fairly tight fitting trousers, but avoid jeans as the inner seam will rub on you leg.  Tracksuit (or jogging) trousers will do if you have nothing else.

On your feet you should wear boots with no tread (wellington boots - or gum boots - are out of the question), and a small heel.  If you don't have anything appropriate trainers will do, but are not ideal.

Once you have decided you want to continue you will want to buy your own hat and riding boots.  You should also buy a few pairs of jodhpurs - as they are designed for the job - and if you feel it necessary invest in a good body-protector.  You couls also buy your own whip, but most riding schools are happy to lend you one.

    Have fun!

  6. At the very least, you need long pants and boots.  Make sure they're not like hiking boots...  they need to be narrow enough that your foot won't get stuck in the stirrup.  Some places are more strict than others, but usually any long pants are allowed...  Jeans are common for lessons...  some places require breaches, but I think that's silly.  For your first lesson, pants and boots are all you really need.

The barn probably has some helmets for you to wear.  You probably will be required to wear one.  If you want to get your own, you can...  Tractor Supply has some inexpensive helmets that would be fine for lessons.

Just show up at your lesson and have fun!
