  1. If you already have a bachelors degree, you may be able to take your education through a one year master's program, then pass your state teacher tests to get your license.  If you haven't gone to university yet, you should study primary education as your major.

  2. it depends on where you live.  each state should have different requirements.  If you go to a local school they should have a list that they can give you giving you the requirements and choices between certain classes to fulfill the requirements.  I just got my associates degree and will be moving on to get my degree in education- early childhood -6th grade.  but i dont want to name specific classes because they may be different in your area.  One thing to consider that many people don't realize:  At least in my area, individual classes that are not locked into a degree expire after a certain amount of time.  That is why i was dedicated to getting my associates degree first, that way if something happens along the way, i haven't wasted years and thousands of dollars.  Degrees lock in your classes to give you lifetime credit for them.  A teacher of mine told us about his wife who was 2 classes short of her bachelors, took years off to have a family, and when she went back found out that all of that time and money were for nothing and that she would have to start over.  How awful would that be.

  3. That really depends on your college and their program

but this is how I got mine....

2 years at community college taking 10 credits in Early Childhood Education, applying to transfer to 4 year college at the start of my second year....

2 more years at 4 year school taking a preset teaching program with definitive courses all related to teaching....

4 years total for a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education

p.s.  No matter what anyone tells you...its almost impossible to get your own classroom these days, get a 4 year degree and you get to substitute teach for less than day labor....

    better off picking another degree
