  1. Hi

For flying people always say take maths and physics, but airlines would rather you get a better mark at say Sports than not getting a good mark in Maths.

So you should take what you like so you can get the best mark you can.

  2. physics, english, maths

  3. Take college prep classes.  Talk to your guidance counselor about the best classes to take to increase your chances of earning college credits and scholarships.  If your school offers AP classes, take advantage of that.  I transferred in a full college semester's worth of AP credits, saving me thousands of dollars.

There really isn't any special classes to take beyond the ones that would help you get into college.  Go as far as you can in math.  Many colleges require a calculus class for college math credit, so the closer you can get to calculus in high school, the better.  It's also helpful to have a strong basic understanding of physics and trig to make the theory part of flight training a lot easier.

Other than that, stay well rounded.  Play sports if you can.  Get involved in extracurricular activities.  Again, your guidance counselor can help you choose activities based on your interests and future goals.  Your objective is to market yourself to colleges and scholarship committees as well as you can.  Why pay thousands of dollars for college when you can get others to pay for you?

  4. my tech school has an aircraft shop u prolly dont y dont u go with technoligies or sumthin like that btw u can go and get a license as long as ur 12 or 13 i think, i know a kid with one hes 15 and he drives better than the teacher u just need to find a place to learn it (not highschool)

  5. Well, if you want to be an airline pilot you're going to have a lot of trouble going through the private sector simply because the airline industry is on the decline massively...and it's not going to change.  Airlines prefer to higher former Air Force pilots, simply because their training is so good.  You're going to go into massive debt training for your pilot's license of large aircraft.

Best advice, do well in high school taking heavy math and science courses.  Apply for an Air Force ROTC scholarship for college to become an officer when you graduate.  (The scholarship is nice simply because it pays for college, but you can join ROTC without getting the extra cash).

In college, again perform as well as you can taking heavy math and science courses.  Your grades depend on if you become selected for pilot training.  The better you perform, the more selecting you have (the top performers choose fighters, lower performers choose freighters).  Since you want to become an airline pilot, the best thing to do would go into cargo freighters or air refuelers.  Server your 7 years in the Air Force, then go into the airlines.  Otherwise, you'll never get a job.

  6. Any kind of dual credit courses that will give you college credits would be a really good idea. Trust me, I really regret not taking more dual credit classes in highschool it will save you alot of time and money later on.  My high school had a private pilot ground school class that I took through the ROTC program. The only downside was that I had to take 1 year of ROTC as a pre requisite. If you are interested in joining the Air Force then Rotc is a good idea anyway

  7. There's nothing special you have to take in high school to help a possible career in aviation.  Airlines don't care about what courses you took in school, what college you went to, what your major was or what your gpa was (as long as it's reasonable).  This is a very tough field, especially these days.  Pick a different career and train for that one.  During or after college, go for your pilots license.  Once your out of college, give an airline pilot career a shot.
