  1. Well the good news is not necessarily. But it totally depends on the community you live in and how high the demand for child care workers are. Now most day care centers also employ assistants which you do not need a college diploma for nut you also get paid less. Most Day care centers require a college diploma. The Early Childhood Education diploma is normally a two year course and can be taken at most community colleges. This course also normally requires a field placement before you can graduate.

My advice would be to apply at some day care centers and see how high the need is in your community. After that if needed check into any college programs!

Good Luck! working with small children is awesome!

  2. u should move friendly with the other children then u understand the childen mind very quickly. this will help u to join for the job

  3. State law generally regulates the *minimum* requirements for child care work, individual schools may require more.  You can usually look these up through the website for your state's Department of Children and Family Services (it might be called something slightly different where you live).

In Illinois, you need to be 19 years old, have 2 years of college including 6 credit hours of Early Childhood Ed/Child Development classes to be a Teacher.  But there are aide and assistant positions that require less schooling, and often you can get the job if you are close to completing the requirements.

You might consider volunteering at a child care center, or looking for work at a Day Camp or a Before/After school program if you are interested in this kind of work but are not yet qualified.
