  1. "I say, Okay!'

"I say, we should have class outside today - it's too lovely and warm to stay in"

  2. say " I say we end poverty in Libya "

surprise the teacher with something smart.

  3. Reply back to him "I say we have the day off today. What do you say?"

  4. Why does he say it that way?  Do you talk to him in class? Do the kids like him? Does he say this to every student?  Actually,  he is just trying to make conversation with you as most teachers try to do with their students.  It would be great to come back with some really smart answers but that could "get you in deep" or maybe a call home. Who wants that?   Does it bother you when he says it that way?  What would you prefer he say...since he seems that he wants to talk to you.  You could say...same 'ole thing or I'm at a loss for words or I have gas...no I'm just kiddin!  Sometimes joking around helps, too!  I love when my students joke around with me or just try to crack me up.  I also like to have fun with them but I never have said what your teacher says. That's really hard to respond to. Try to be polite to keep yourself out of hot water but sometimes humor can work wonders.  Good luck and let us know what you end up saying to him!

  5. "I say pass the salt."

    "I say, you're looking well!"

"I say my name.  What do YOU say?"

"I say its true. Don't try to deny it!"

Just try to be sort of random and silly. Your teacher just means "how are you?"
