  1. if you can get your hands on a suit and some half decent shoes do so so you look respectable and be pleasent and you should get off with a warning. (depending on what you were lifting)

  2. Just go as neat and clean as possible.  Wear what you have as long as it is clean, perhaps ironing will give a neater appearance. Hair and nails should be clean and if you are a guy, shave. Good luck to you.  I hope that you have vowed in your heart to never shoplift again.  It is sooooo not worth it!

  3. You need to wear a suit, seriously, it's that deep.  If you don't have a suit, then a shirt and tie.  If you don't have any of those things and to get the nice shoes, go to the thrift store, or Payless or something.  People don't understand that you need to put across a good image when you go to court, especially if you're up on charges.  It will look good to the judge and it will make you feel better about yourself.  Your lawyer should have said something to you when they briefed you for court!  I can understand you not knowing if you've never been, but shame on your lawyer!  Good luck, don't try to be clever or shady, just be honest, humble and most of all yourself.

  4. go to goodwill get dress pants for $1.00 and a dressy shirt for $1 and black shoes for $2.00 and wash your hair before you go

  5. You need to look as presentable as possible Don't shoplift for clothes! Jeans are totally not acceptable. Khakis or nice slacks.. a nice dress shirt.. and even a tie if you can.

Shower, shave and look good for the judge!

  6. do NOT wear jeans. no sandals. try to look as mature and responsible as possible. dont CRY, just act mature and collective and genuinely sorry, and offer a formal apology to whoever you stole from, say you realize how irrational the decision was. etc etc

comb your hair nicely, NO GLOBS OF GEL OR ANYTHING and NO wild makeup.

  7. No -- do not, DO NOT wear jeans.  Do you have a friend who can lend you a nice suit, or maybe some khakis, a button down shirt and tie?  That would be much more appropriate.

  8. Jeans and long sleeve not short sleeve is fine.  Normal shoes are fine too.

  9. It is definitely more respectful to dress up, first impressions are key expecially in court. You want the judge to see that you are respectfull and sincerely sorry.  I think Good Will would be a good place to go, if you dont have money try to borrow something from a friend.

  10. I would say dress as presentable and respectful as possible. But met a judge once and he says that when people came into court with ripped jeans and sloppy clothes he felt bad and would often give them a lesser fine. Of course he was talking about traffic court.

    Good luck

  11. You want to appear as nice and presentable as possible.

Some people go over the top and get funky suits and try and appear to be something they are not. But others know how to strike the right amount of presentability.

This includes a shirt, a tie, dress pants, and some nice shoes to go along with it. If you don't have any of these at your disposal, I suggest trying to find the nicest clothes you possibly have, that makes you the most presentable, and presents you in the most clean cut and positive light.

You don't want to appear like a trashy individual or someone that does not maintain upkeep.

  12. beg,or borrow a suit if you dont have one, wear decent shoes, dont go all S****y in a tracksuit or scruffy old clothes,it will say"chavscum"to judge etc,if your a female wear smart skirt or trousers, borrow nice shoes and apply minimum make up and make yourself look presentable
