  1. depends on what type of turtle you have it is possible you have a box turtle here are a couple of sites that you can look at and see what type of turtle you have and see how to care for it  http://austinsturtlepage.com/    http://www.tortoisetrust.org/    http://www.tortoise.org/      best of luck honey hope you find what you are looking for but with out a picture this is the best i can do.

  2. mostly veg (collard greens dandilions radish greens) with occational protien such as bugs maybe a few times a month. it doesnt help that u dont know what species it is. u should really take it back to the pet store and find out how to care for your pet.

read this then get an id for the tort u have then learn how to care for it

  3. you really need to find out what type of turtle you have to be able to answer this question, because some land turtles are totally vegetarian and others not.

Could you post a photo? Or take it to a vet or science center that might be able to identify it, or check out some online sites with photos or a book from the library?

That is the most important thing, to find out what you have first.

Where do you live and under what conditions did you find it? We might be able to help you ID it.

  4. Crawling insects they can catch, insect larvae, some plants and fruits that would have dropped on the ground in its native habitat.

You can try making a little salad using veggies like shredded raw carrots, cabbage, and lettuces. Don't leave it in the cage if it doesn't eat it all at once to avoid it getting sick on rotted food.

The occasional crawling bug is fine. We used to feed ours the little pillbugs (or sowbugs or roly-polys) Earthworms are fine, you could try insect larvae such as blackfly, and housefly maggots too.

A variety is the best diet for turtles as they do eat a variety in the wild.
