What do local GP's earn each year ?

I am thinking of becoming a GP (doctor) in the future and i was wondering how much they earn per year (pounds) i would really appreciate it if someone could answer my question thanks x

If you are interested in the financial aspect don't do it.

Become a merchant banker if that is what motivates you.

Going to med school for 5 or 6 years and then doing loads of post grad training + having to except / fit into an incredibly ego driven Hierarchical structure (which you start off despising but end up becoming like) where you can be failed or have your career blocked out of spite just aint worth it for the money.

To make mega bucks as a Medic you have to be very business orientated. If you are very business orientated you can make money in anything so why qualify as a doctor?

About AU $ 4.000,00 to 6.000,00 per week gross.

30% of it goes to h**l,(sorry, the tax man).

Keeping up the appearance and life standards of a doctor is very costly too.

If you do want big "money for nothing and cheques for free" than play the guitar on the MTV.

About £70,000 as a salaried GP I think. More as a partner as you are part of the business but therefore you need to sort tax, buildings, employees etc.

On paper the salary may look great but being a Dr is hard work and emotionally very stressful. MOST but not all Drs do it as a vocation and not as a money making exercise.

If you are thinking about money don't do it as with all professions only the very few make heaps of money, for the rest it is reasonable!

Some of them make £150,000 a year but not all of them. It depends where you are working, which part of the country etc.
