What do mature adults usually talk about?

Im just asking because Im in a freshmen dorm and it seems as though I cant relate in there conversations.I already done 2 years of college and Im going to be 20 years old soon.

I can't speak for everybody, but we mostly talk about current events and relationships (both familial and romantic).

Ditto to the above comments.  To be a good conversationalist, you must also be a good listener and to know which is appropriate at the time.

Mature adults? I have heard mature people gossip and laugh at crude humour. It all depends upon the person. I'm in college too and I don't agree that all college students are immature and thoughtless. Some are interesting and fun and others talk about the latest celebrity. Adults talk about politics,work,family,pets,clothes,bills,... Basically we all talk about our personal interests. I have felt that I don't always fit in with the people around me. Hopefully we will both find our niche.

Adults talk about the same dumb things as teenagers.  They might have a better vocabulary or be more witty-but in general everyone likes to have conversations that are interesting.  What they did over the weekend, the news, funny stories, clothes, etc.

Work issues, money, children and/or grandchildren (their work and educational isues), politics, news items, hobbies (golf/tennis/bridge/gardening).  And other dumb stuff.

the weather, politics, whats up in school, relationships, sports, church...it's good that you sound like you consider yourself "mature" at only 19...wish most kids would see themselves as mature and ready for adult conversation by that age...don't grow up too fast tho!
