What do me and hubby have to do for him to adopt my son?

My son's father has nothing to do with him and has neva paid a penny for him, my hubby would like to adopt my son how do we go about doing this?

Does your son's biological father have parental rights?  If so, they will need to be terminated first.

Either way, you will need an adoption attorney (specializing in step-parent adoptions if possible) to file the paperwork and make sure whatever needs to be done, is done.  The only way for your son to get an amended birth certificate and for your husband to have parental rights is through a court order - and I highly recommend you get an attorney to get you through the process.

Your son's father needs to give up all his rights. Then I suggest getting a lawyer to start legal proceedings for an adoption. Good luck  :)
