What do mice eat in the wild?

i was wondering what is the food chain for mice? i know we try catching them with cheese or peanut butter on traps and they seem to like dog food and dog bisquits. what do they survive on in outdoors or winter?

Some mice are carnivores like grasshopper mice.  Most live off vegetation like seeds or fruits.  Many can live off of most any kind of food that a human would eat.  In the winter many mice eat the grass under the snow to keep alive.  Others probably hibernate.
