What do midgets prefer to be called?

I have friends who are midgets, but I didn't ask them what they prefer to be called because I didn't want to be rude. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Definitely little people is the preferred term now. Calling them by their names isn't always gonna get it. There's bound to be discussions, explanations about the different issues encountered. My brother is Down Syndrome, and obviously we call him by his name, but when something related to his disability comes up, we use the term. It's not an insult---acting like it is would be insulting actually!

The correct term is Little People but if they're your friends, just call them by their own names.

1. if they are friends then you understand it's not rude to ask someone what they perfer to be called!  I do this all the time even to people i'm not friends with!

so your name is jimmy what do you like to be call jim or jimmy?

2. if your are friends then honestly call them by there name!

unless your the type who don't use names oh here is my black friend, that way every one who talks to your black friend says hey black friend!  and what would you do if you had 2 black friends here is black friend 1 and black friend 2

just ignore the labels and say here is jimmy my friend!  if the heigh tthing gets brought up then find out what is more meaning full to your friend..

maybe one midget friend of yours could care less what you call him,

the other one might care!

Friends are special so treat them by a case by case basis!

and be real with them!

Find out their first name. Unless they strike you as formal, use that.

If they do strike you as formal, use their family name.

As a medical condition, they are dwarves.  As a demographic group, they are little people.
