  1. Original Birth Certificate and a notarized letter from their parents or guardian(if you are not their parent that is) if you are the only parent going you do need a letter from the other parent verifying that they are aware you are coming to Canada with your child, how long you will gone, where you will be going as well as all their contact info just in case they want to get in touch with them to verify the info, if you are divorced it is also a good idea to bring any custody agreements as well as the letter. They may not ask for it but it sure does make life so much easier when you do have it! otherwise you get to go into the waiting area and wait and wait until they get in touch with the other parent! And let me tell you that can take a long time(for me it was about 5 hrs) so I have never made that mistake again, I always get a notarized letter from my ex when we travel out of Canada now!
