Depends on the time of the year. Winter, they are grazing in higher elevations (not mountain tops), generally eating bark from different trees such as maple. Spring/Summer they move towards wet areas such as swamps and ponds/lakes to graze of water plant life. Fall is the time of the rut (mating season), which they are still grazing on wet plant life and eating bark.

Eat and wander around. Sometimes they rub fuzz off of their antlers on trees.

One once almost ran me over when it was napping in the high grass and someone lit a firecracker that startled it and it lunged across that path I was walking on.

I also once saw one stick its head into a kitchen window and eat the salad on a counter...

Being a kid in Alaska I had plenty of opportunities to observe them up close and personal.

But in general, moose eat and wander around. They are pretty boring. No as stupid as ptarmigan, but boring.

Moose will normal feed to wherever they are going to bed down for a few hours and then get up and  feed for another couple hours and do the same thing all day long, unless it's real hot out then they will feed in ponds and marshes ....must be boring to be a moose except during mating season when they can't get enough of each other.
