What do most black people think of gangster rap?

I'm asking because a survey showed that a lot of the people who buy gangster rap are actually young white kids...

could be true...most people of every nationality are very versitle in the music department. Personally i don't like rap. Im into r&b, soul, pop, pop rock, old school music,...the rap with an actual cool flow and not lots of curses. :)

Where I live I know a lot of black people who go in and out of music styles...and country...i like that too. All depends on whats good.

I don't really listen to rap. I like a few songs here and there, but that's about it.

In english class teachers always told us to write what we know, so I guess that's kinda what gangster rappers are doing. But shouldn't there come a time when they'd wanna stop living the lives they live?

Every black person I have ever met likes rap. Almost every white kid I have met does not like rap. Your opinion has just been denied.

the only thing that really bugs me is the constant use of the n-word in rap music. i enjoy it otherwise, but i wouldn't go so far as to say it is my favorite music.

It's impossible to know what "most black people" think about it. That being said, I can't stand most rap and hate that the truly good artists (Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, etc.) are generally ignored in favor of idiots like Soulja Boy, 50 Cent and Lil Wayne.

of course i can't speak for most or any other black person but im okay with SOME gangster rap, usually because it has a good beat.

but you're right, the most consumers of rap/hip hop are white males

meh, it's okay. i don't listen to it much at all. the lyrics are bad yet it's fun to listen to (the rhymes the beat)
