What do moths do?

My 7 year old son would like to know the answer to this question....

1. trying to get to the dark spot behind the light

2. eat cloth (beware) mostly in colorado

3.Moths found in the home do not necessarily indicate insect infestations inside. Many household moths appear when the insects inadvertently move indoors

4. they fly faster than butterfly

most moths are active at night, and are attracted to light.  Adult moths do not eat.  their larvae are the destructive critters.  There are many species of moths, attracted to various materials to lay their eggs on or in.   search "moths"  on the internet.  lots of info.

Moths go around flying and sit on the wall or anywhere, some people are scared of them but they dont harm u at al, except that they might scare u!!!!!!!!they scare my brother and he's 10-lol
