  1. they are all essential in sustaining the skin which functions as the first line of protection for the body. nerves allow u to feel things, and pain helps your body avoid serious injuries. glands such a sweat glands help regulate body temperature by cooling your skin when it over heats. oil glands help facilitate the growth of hairs on your skin. blood vessels supply the all the cells of the skin and allow for blood clotting and for the fighting of infectious invaders. connective tissue holds the layers of the skin together and gives it its flexibility as well as its toughness, connective tissue has cells that attack bacteria too, and allows the skin to attach to your muscles underneath.
