One useful thing they do is point out the hypocrasy of leaving 80% of the world's population with the fastest-growing impact out of the efforts to fight emissions growth:

The plans developed by U.N. politicians fail to stop emissions growth and warming.  They also fail to address the underlying causes such as rampant population growth, and they fail to consider contributing causes to global warming such as black carbon.  These failings amount to future genocide for humans on this planet.

Hoepfuly Greenpeace and others will continue to bring these issues to the forefront.
