Sarah Palin and Todd Palin were high school sweethearts. This means, that both were very close to each other when Todd registered as a member of this party.

What is your point?  Ronald Reagan was a registered Democrat when he was young.  Then, young people often make stupid mistakes, but they get wiser with age...

What are you trying to say, you don't think people can ever change their party affiliation?  I was a Republican before I was an Independent, so what?  If there is some sort of logic in your question I can't find it.

That platform sounds pretty patriotic to me.  Most patriotic republicans are also federalists which means we believe very much in state's rights.  Reading your excerpt, it sounds like the people of Alaska in this party just want a choice in the matter, which is very much in line with federalism.  And "less governement interference in our everday lives" Wow!  That is the fundamental party platform of the Republican party.

Sorry, you are not going to turn me against McCain by saying that the husband of the VP, two decades ago, was involved in a peaceful movement to give Alaskans a right to choose their statehood.  Keep reaching though, you will get to some magic bullet eventually.  How about..."Did you know that McCain fathered a vietnamese child while he was a POW, and that now-adult has come forward to reveal that McCain stayed in the camp because he was in love with the estranged son's mom, not in love with America?"

People can change parties.  We had a state rep that went from being a Republican to being a Democrat when he disagreed with the party and was still elected by his constituency.

That does it! I was once a conservative Republican but this changes everything. I think I'll vote for Obama now.
