  1. Turn your question around. What do YOU like to do that other people find yucky? If not sure, check with friends and family. Go after that market.

Everybody doesn't like something. If there are 10 people in the trash business, but only one of them enjoys the bad smell, which one is likely to get the job done quicker. Play to your strengths. You can advertise to people's fears/dislikes/concerns.

The better you can deliver, the more your reputation (and word of mouth referrals) will grow.

  2. You could do an all-in-one lawn service- weeds pulled, lawn mowed, leaf blower, plants watered.

you could get a snowball maker and some flavors and sell them in a park or a busy area in your town

or if you live in a city with a lot of art shows you could think of something unique like stationary, fence hangy things or chimes to sell. or sell your snowballs there :D:D

  3. There is a guy in my town who collects animal p**p. He can

either clean it off your lawn ie for dogs or you put it in

his special buckets and he will take it away to the dump. I use him to take away my cat litter and p**p. In my city it is

illegal to put f***s in your garbage because then it goes into the dump and contaminates the groundwater. So you have

to put it in a special place in the city dumpwhich is out of town and pay for it by weight and then it is specially treated. This fellow uses buckets which are about the size of 4 quart

ice cream buckets and lines them with white bags which are made of corn starch which then decompose into the soil harmlessly in less than a year. He comes around once a week and collects the bags and leaves the bucket with a

new bag for you. He charges 5.00 a bucket for my cats. I have six cats and I only use one bucket a week. Once a month I complete change all the litter and he wanted to charge me 7.00 to haul that away but I told him I would pay him 10.00 as that is about 150 lbs of litter (it is the clumping kind) Prior to this I had to do it all myself and it usually ended up in garbage bags piled in the corner of my yard for a month which was smelly and unsanitary and a haven for rats. This

is so simple and easy and cheap. It just saves me so much time and effort. Plus as a forerunner of the 'green movement'

he is getting waste material out of the dump including the

regular plastic garbage bags people would use plus it saves gas for his customers and saves on emissions because we

are not all going to the dump once a month or whatever. He only has a small truck with two big chests for the stuff. I don't know how much he charges to collect the stuff off the lawn but a couple of my older neighbours use him for that. He sends out a newsletter each month with his invoice telling about animal activities in town and ads for vets and pet stores etc.

He estimates that he saved 4 tons of f***s going into the

dump and therefore into the soil last year with his service.

I know this not something everyone would like to do but he must be making a good living at it because he has been going strong for three years and it is expanding all the time. EDIT; another thing that is really popular in my town but

seasonally if hiring people to put up and take down your xmas decorations. People are always looking for someone to do that for them!!
