Some of you conspiracy theorist really try too hard to pursued people into believing what you want us to believe. I know you're bored and you have nothing else to occupy your time with. However I have to ask, what do you have to gain out of "proving" that we faked the moon landing?

I mean it was an extremely positive thing that happened to the entire WORLD. Why would you try or even want to ruin something like that?

  1. They are stealing your time and energy to respond.

Your time has to be worth at least $20 per hour.

    Ignore them.

Japan is going to do it again soon anyway.

Just tell them to go play with themselves in the corner.

  2. the crew of Apollo 11 and subsequent astronauts had faked their orbit around the Moon and their walk on its surface by trick photography, and they never got more than halfway to the Moon. the radiation belts prevented humans from reaching the moon.

Lack of stars in the pictures and collins saying he didnt remember seeing any stars is quite telling.

The quality of the photographs is implausibly high.

The color and angle of shadows and light are inconsistent. often showing a second or third light source was used.

Identical backgrounds in photos are listed as taken miles apart.

    Cold-War prestige

Money — NASA raised approximately $30 billion to go to the Moon. in the 60's that a lot of tax payer money.

Problems early in the space program were insurmountable

To fulfill President Kennedy's 1961 promise "to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."

still some think it was real and maybe the video and photography was faked to show the world.

only Nasa and the astronauts know the truth.

maybe china will find out for us soon. if they don't see anything on our landing sights ,

    nasa will be exposed.

  3. I believe there is no simple single reason, but I tend to put

    *them* into three groups

Some promote this "theory" because they want to sell their books and videos

Some may simple believe what they have heard and want to share it (those are basically the only ones that can be educated)

The third group wants to believe in some big evil government conspiracy (because that excuses their failures), they want to feel smarter than the general public, they don't want to admit that they don't understand the subject etc

  4. Self satisfication.

How lame. Some people really have nothing better to do.

  5. Someone was selling books and maybe speeches at tin hat conventions.

  6. They go through great deals to "prove" the moon landings were fake for countless reasons.

    1.  They believe that the general public should know the "truth", because they find it sad (IF it were true) that they would even stage the moon landing.

    2.  They will be able to make money from the material they present, books, interviews whatever.

What do they gain from it?  They gain money, fame and some credibility.

  7. It is called cognitive dissonance and can come from various reasons. Those people seek only information that confirms their belief. They purposely loose track of what is known as common sense.

Note that they may very well mix beliefs that are contradictory, like religion and astrology. The 'gain' as you write, is probably the satisfaction to be a little group against the 'big brother' rest of the world.

While being mostly harmless, some cognitive dissonant people may go all the way as to offer their life for e.g. a religious cause. That is very sad.

  8. The belief that the moon landing is a hoax comes from a few factors.

    1)  Space is something that is often incomprehensible to people.  For thousands of years, we have looked up at the stars, the sun, and the moon, and been mystified by the impossible nature of them.  To some people, it can be the equivalent of saying that we went to heaven, and it wasn't very interesting.

    2)  People just LOVE to believe in government conspiracies.  Some people will go to great lengths to prove the government is trying to hide something from them, no matter what the situation.

    3)  Mass hysteria.  Remember the Salem witch trials?  NASA is on stand.  Accused for doing the "impossible".

These three factors, all triangulated on the Moon Landing, can turn a lot of sensible people to the dark side...of the moon.

That pun really deserves best answer.

    Hope that helped...the discussion.

  9. Because they are money hungry retards!

We went to the MOON! why can't they just accept that..

  10. It is important that when the public is told something - that it be true... and we can know this, by the details surrounding the event or action, etc.  The details tell the real story.  Odd things after the event, can tell a story too.  Why didn't the Russians ever try a moon landing?  Why did they only use unmanned robitic craft?  When didn't the Americans go back to the Moon?  Why don't we have robotic craft on the moon now?  Making the Mars rovers much better and more reliable?

And if you think NASA is always truthful to us - the public - view the documentary "The Secret NASA Transmissions" - and also the Disclosure Project videotaped interviews...

  11. Because people don't want to belive that the Americans actually went to the moon but those people are seriously sad.

  12. thank you for posting this question. i have no idea what these people would gain. there is no way they would gain anything because it will never be proven that it was fake for one reason- it wasn't. like you said, people don't have anything better to do with their time.

  13. Thank you David T for pointing out the similarity between the endless modern conspiracy theories and the Salem witch trials. I know people now who are caught up in the "9/11 Truth" b.s. and this might be a good way to get them to look more closely at themselves.

Did you ever notice that the same people who scoff at the moon landings (*six* of them, by the way) also tend to be the same people who are convinced by extremely questionable "evidence" that UFOs are actually alien spacecraft? There's a pattern there that the government doesn't want us to notice...

  14. They want attention.

  15. nothing.

now, they'll now move on to mars.

    "its not water, its co2"

but they'll still over look the ominous shadows behind them

now days I just think of them as Luddites and expect the "holders" of technology and knowledge to run over them.

its what they fear the most, and the truth that has won again and again.

the are nothing new, and nothing of any importance in the long run.

just look at where textiles are leading to today....

moving into the world of nanites
