What do people in Boston have against Damon?

Look, I realize he dumped you guys and went to us (quite frankly who wouldnt???) but the guy was as big a member of the 04 team than anybody. If Derek Jeter left for Boston (good joke, right???) we'd still love him. He even talks about how the Boston years were the best of his life and he has a lot of friends from there. He took a whole page ad in the Boston Herald saying "Thank you for everything" essentially.

You guys should love him...if Aaron Boone or Bucky Dent went to the Red Sox we would love him still.

I guess you missed his huge diss of Boston fans. We all still loved him until, in a press conference, he insulted the actual fans of Boston. We could have taken an insult to the team (like Manny who will still follow like a baseball god), but he insulted the actual fans, then put out that ad to try to cover it all up. To a fault... we in Boston do not forget.

Johnny Damon left his wife and young children for another woman and then left Boston for more money. It's hard to remember the good times with a departure like that. Your attachment to Jeter and to the above mentioned Yankees legends is understandable. They will mean more in 20 years than Damon will. Even the Rocket is still respected in Boston by real Sox fans by s******g up somewhere else.

listen NY fan damon was good but he went to ny manny stopped trying and we don't like him any more he went to la damon was great and it stunk that we did not sign him but there were so many other teams and he went to the yankees we did get a yankee in 05 john olerude he wasn't that good basically damon went to the evil empire and we don't want him back plus his throwing arm isn't good Go sox
