    Young and middle aged dress smartly but are more relaxed than their elders.

    Very conservative dress at funerals is the norm

  11. Define special event...concert at Slane?  St. Patrick's day in Dublin?  Football game?  For such events they typically dress in normal casual attire.  

    Note to fellow USA citizens, this means jeans, casual shirt (maybe football jersey if appropriate) and NO sneakers (runners).
