Question:

What do people in the UK think about Americans loving their accent so much?

I know that there are tons of different accents in the UK. But there are certain ones that drives Americans (like myself) wild. And, it seems that this does not go vice-versa. I know this question is general so I guess I mean for you personally. Is this funny for you? Flattering? Silly? Just curious.

  1. Im a brit married to an American guy, and we both like the different accents, and different meanings, saying etc.....its funny at times, and i personally never ever find it offensive if asked to say something because of my accent..........i just often run outa things to say. which is odd for a woman.

  2. I'm not an American but in my point of view, it's not silly at all. Americans and everyone else has a right to love the Brit accents. Yes, I love their accent too! And it's not a problem. Actually, the Brits should feel good that people like their accent. Hope I helped.

  3. I go to the local parts of NJ and VA every year and I always get smerked at and people ask where im from. (UK)

I often find it quite funny because, british people can always tell an american accent from another one and the americans cant tell where we're from. They always think its weird, but cool.

I was asked whether i was putting it on. I said, "Yes im putting on an accent because i feel like it" and the american woman believed me...

  4. I'm British and I hate it ... makes me feel like a pet dog

  5. Im from london therefor have that acent and i find it flattering also i like the american accent aswell . x

  6. i find it flattering :-)

and my girlfriend is American, and she obviously loves my accent, but i also find her accent to be the cutest thing ever

    :-D
