What do people mean by the term 'You are a troll'?

I have been called a troll on numerous occasion on yahoo answers, does anyone know if it has a specific meaning?

A troll is someone who deliberately stirs up trouble in a discussion forum, or thread. That pretty much sums it up anyway

A troll is basically someone who is considered to monitor forums/chatrooms and look for an opportunity to say something obscene, rude, or innapropriate about the topic(s) being discussed.

I am not sure what that means, but I was also observing a discussion where someone called the other a troll. I could tell that the one they were calling a troll was going against everything they were saying. I know for a fact the one they were calling a troll was telling a lie.

The term "troll" or "trolling" comes from the fishing technique of slowly dragging your baited hook through the water in an effort to get a fish to go for the bait. Of course, once the fish has taken the bait, you have it hooked and can reel it in.

An internet troll uses similar tactics by posting something outrageous  for the sole (pardon the fishing pun) purpose of getting heated responses to his post.

A troll is someone who posts off-topic comments in an attempt to provoke other users who are otherwise participating in a normal on-topic discussion. On this site, the trolls will post comments like that as an 'answer' to a question just to get an emotional response from the asker and perhaps some of the other answerers. Whoever called you a troll is likely a troll themselves and did so just to get a rise out of you. Don't pay any attention to them. Hope this helps :)

A troll is someone who is ludicrously callous and pitiless. Trolls commonly press the 'Thumbs Down' Icon on a morally acceptable question to raise their self esteem. Trolls look down on other people and ostracize them. These are arrogant people who use internet anonymity to their advantage to hurt others and make themselves 'feel good'. For instance, if someone posted a thumbs-down on a generally acceptable comment, they would be a troll. However, I haven't seen any of your comments and it could be a possibility that trolls are calling you a troll to be mean.

Ive seen people called a troll aswell. i wonder what it means.
