  1. call GEICO at 1-800-342-9070 for a free rate quote and give them promotion code 97950.

  2. I preface these comments with the knowledge that I worked for a competitor and did MANY rate/coverage studies.

State Farm is one of the nations most competitive and progressive insurance companies. Their coverage’s are OUTSTANDING in stark contrast to all their closest competitors- Progressive, Geico, Liberty Mutual, American Family, etc. There is also the perk of being able to talk to your agent and have a good working relationship!!

I suggest that you first call around and do rate/coverage/deduct quotes with the ones you are considering....you will be amazed in the differences you come across.

P.S. I'm now a State Farm customer :o) Great service!!!!!

  3. I've been insured with State Farm for for over 20 years (home, auto and life) and never had any issues with them. The agent is always ready to talk and always helps with claims and finding ways to reduce my premium.

They may cost a little more than other providers, but I believe they do a better job for the price.

  4. I like them. I have had them about 25 years and no complaints. In fact they are a mutual company and when my children were on my auto policy. I would get rebate checks from my agent if there were not a lot of claims from his policy holders. I called it found money as I had to have them insured.

  5. Insurance is like a diamond.....you pay for what you get....if your shopping for just price, you will find a few cheaper....if your looking for long term investment and relationships, then State Farm can't be beat.  There agents are the most professional and best trained in the industry.  They agents staff are also tops in the industry.  The claims a side goes unmatched whether is just a regular claim or during natural disasters.....Their is a reason why they have 25% of the market....the next three largest insurance companys barely equal their size....just food for thought....

I've been insured with State Farm for about 24 years.  My parents were with them for about 20 years.  I was employed with them for 17 in claim.  I know how the operate their business and treat their customers.  You won't find anyone better....good luck.

  6. I've never worked for them, I prefer working independent.

BUT, my personal insurance is with them.  They aren't the cheapest, but they have great coverage and great claims service.

  7. I've never had them, but I've never heard anything bad about them for house, car insurance,etc....

BUT DON'T buy life, health or disability insurance from them.  The word "competitive" doesn't not describe it at all.  And not to beat up on them as that's the same with all of the "car insurance" companies - Allstate, Erie, etc...

Most of these companies offer these other products know that once they have the car and the house insurance in place the clients are just going to call because it's convenient.  SO, they have no reason to make it competitive.  And, it's not just a "little bit" more expensive. I just insured a couple and got them 40% more death benefit on their life insurance for the same money.

Anyway, so to answer your question -- for house and car "yes" they're good, but for life, health, and disability "no."

    Jeff

  8. The value of insurance usually comes directly from your agent.  The only thing I would suggest is to buy from an agent you trust, and NOT on-line or over the phone..... you may save $$ but regret it in the long run.
