play video games like a lot of people. I read this short article about how role playing games and strategy games can be good for the mind. However there's also a bad thing about it. People can get too wrapped up in them and become a bit obsessed with a certain game. Here's an example of a game that has a lot of fans. Final Fantasy.
If you don't know anything about this game, it's a series of role playing games that are really popular among people for the characters and stories. Lots of people play the games. Young kids and adults. I'm a fan and enjoy it to. However I noticed that a lot of so called fans love to argue and hate each other for it. If it's about the best game or who the best villain is, people insult each other all the time.
One game was released 14 years ago and STILL people are obsessed about it and saying how stupid fans of another game are. And of course they need to state which game is the best and who the best villain is. While there isn't anything wrong with a little healthy debate now and then, it just gets out of hand sometimes. I've learned not to care what the best game is. I enjoy the games because they have great characters and they're fun to play.
I have my favourites like everyone else but I can at least be mature and accept another's opinion about it. Being a fan though, it gets annoying to hear these people that care so much about it. I know some might tell me to ignore it but I can't help it. I worry about people. It's not even with just this game. Plenty of other games have these annoying fans. It's kind of sad really. They can't play games in moderation. I've been insulted in the 9th grade for wanting to buy a certain console. I just laughed and stayed with my opinion. This was a few years ago. I just wander why people get so worked up about these things and why they care.
The reason I'm asking is because I'm interested in psychology and what these people are thinking.
