What do people think about the Grand Theft Auto franchise?

I want know people's opinions on whether or not kids my age, about 13 years old, should play grand theft auto..

Personally i think it varies from child to child.

It depends on how mature that kids is..

If the kid is careless and goes around, not obeying your orders as a parent, then of course you shouldn't allow them..

But if the kid is smart and intellectual and knows that doing the stuff that you do, killing n' such, in grand theft auto, is bad.

have you noticed that the kids who commit those murders "because of grand theft auto" have already had a history and/or sort of crazy..?

I think blaming video games is a cop out. A child needs to learn the difference between fantasy and reality. And a parent needs to teach their children that. If parents supervised and watched the child while playing video games we probably wouldnt have as many parents blaming the games for their failings as parents.

I think blaming a video game for violent behavior is rediculous, those kids obviously have other problems in their lives that  lead to behavior like that.  With that said, I absolutely don't think kids under 17 should be playing a game like Grand Theft Auto.  It's very violent, and is not appropriate for younger children.  They put ratings on video games, movies, and music for a reason.

I'm 16 & ive played that game for years... I don't think of commiting suicide, steeling cars, or hurting pedestrians in real life. But its up 2 u if u want ur child playing that kind of stuff.

I love the game myself and would let my son play it. If your dumb enough to do those things on the game your gonna do them regardless
