Any ideas or theories about what on earth is going on in this case, or who is culpable (assuming it's not the entire family)?

Thanks

  1. It was one big money scam..End of.

  2. it is an unfortunate incident and again it's always the children at risk and the ones who gets the short end of the stick.  i think they tried to do 'a mccann' but it was all badly executed....in short i think it was all for money but i also beleive there was more to it.

  3. Her mother and stepfather are a pair of un-washed, uneducated morons who believe that extorting money from the British public whilst abusing a young girl is a better option than working for a living.

I never trusted her dirty face and have no respect for a mother of 7 (to 6 men) who cannot look after them and does not work.

Perhaps she decided that her usual plan of popping another kid out for an increase in benefits was too much like hard work this time round.

  4. Haven't a clue. All I know is that it is very bizarre and these people seem like right weirdos. I just hope that the police (who worked so hard and should be complimented) get to the bottom of it and get those children sorted out with nice homes with caring decent people.

  5. Well, since none of us actually know all the ins and outs, and are guessing, I have a scenario:-

"Now then Shannon, go and stay with your uncle for a while. You'll have to keep very quiet and out of sight, but it'll be worth it in the end 'cos we'll make oodles of cash, and we can all go on holiday to Disneyland."

I can, unfortunately, see even a nine year old being talked into that one!!

  6. They are all SICK B******S

  7. I think they planned the whole thing, but time will tell.

  8. its for the money.  I think they saw how the McCanns raised £1,000,000 through donations and have used it to pay off mortgage payments etc and thought they'd give it a try.  Not the first people to try and scam the money out of the fund.

Thats why as soon as Shannon "went missing" representitives of her family started ringing the fund demanding money and according to the fund director "seemed very confused when they were told that they could not just hand over a large wad of cash".  One of the callers claiming to be from the family even got agressive when they found out they couldn't have any cash from it.

I wonder how far they would have taken it if she hadn't been discovered when she was.  Thats a pretty chilling thought.  I do remember thinking it was really odd when the press were taking pictures of the mum and step dad outside their house when she was found and thinking that she didnt look very happy about it at all.  (Hindsight I guess).

  9. It really makes me sick...people like them are blessed with kids and they use and abuse them like this...there are lots of couples who cannot have kids not very fair.

They are so greedy, to use a scam like that but hooray it's back fired on them as they will be serving  sentences and hope never get out.

I really feel sorry for those kids imagine when Shannon is older how is she going to feel about what they did, hope they go in care to some really good people who are desperate for kids.

  10. This is what I think they planned:

They pretended Shannon was missing to gain some money. Organised a safe house where she could be kept out of the view of the public. They would then for the rest of the year keep getting donations to their fund and the money offered for the return of Shannon by The Sun would increase.

Then at the end of the year they would get Shannon to be found by someone they know and get the newspaper money being offered for her return. The parties involved would split the total money and leave the town as heroic individuals who lived through h**l for the year (we would be led to believe). Gain appearances on This Morning, Trisha, News channels, Jeremy Kyle and GMTV which would give them even more money.

How many were involved? Now that's the question.

How could anybody put their child through this?

  11. I am probably going to get slatted for this - but i think they ( Shannons Mum and step dad) wanted to make some money.

They didnt care enough to see what all this would not only do to Shannon but her brothers and sisters as well. it came down to greed.

Between them they have ripped a family apart - i feel so sorry for those children.

Isn't it a mothers/fathers worst nightmare to have a child abducted ( i know it is mine) - to fake this is the worst possible thing to do.

So they didnt have a lot of money - that does not excuse what they have done.

    there friends must be devastated.

I hope they both enjoy the publicity they get now  - they dont deserve children and Shannon and her brothers and sisters deserve better parents.

lock them upi and throw away the key - stupid people.

  12. The Matthews family have managed to make the McCann's look good.......that is quite an achievement.

  13. I think it is unfair the way they've been treated because of there class.

Now if they were middle class, working then there would be not arrested and alot of press coverage would be showing them in a good light like the McCanns.

The McCanns killed there little girl yet there around to swan around and pretend she has been abducted and no one can see this.

The public and media need to fix up and remember that when it all comes out what hey did, then watch the way they are treated.

  14. I think the Police have stumbled across a pedophile ring myself.  I hope they put the lot of them away for good. b******s.

  15. They probably wanted to attract media interest and generate a collection fund. I heard somewhere they even asked the mcCanns for some of their money ....But I also heard the McCanns were using some of the Maddy money to pay off their mortgage.

  16. well i dont know what the h**l is going on but maybe the family saw how much money the mccann's were to help find there daughter, i think it was all about the money for them. i heard them on tv coplaining about how Madeleine was getting alot more funding to help find her than Shannon was.

then again i dont know but i'm sure it will all come out soon

  17. money! they saw how the money rolled in when the mcanns killed their daughter(allegedly) and pretended she had been kidnapped and thought they'd have some of that. unfortunately not having a brain cell between the lot of them they ****** it right up!

the step fathers uncle had the girl the step father had 150 photos of kids on his PC (though apparently not of Shannon - Christ how fat and ugly is that kid even peedos don't want her photo, the step fathers mother and sister were in contact with the mcanns for money from the (hide)find Madelaine fund and now the mother is being questioned by the police -presumably to find out how the h**l see got 6 men to shag her!

  18. I think they had the low cunning to dream up the scam, but not the intelligence to really think it through. At least now that little girl has a chance in life.

  19. I think it was for money. Like someone else on here said, they saw how the McCanns raised a huge amount and thought they would try it on, not realising that if you have child p**n on your computer, the police will find out. They  must be thick.

Very well said baby face(.Lol at "never trusted the dirty face)

  20. i think the uncle might of taken her to protect her the mother then found out but didnt give a dam

  21. The police are still figuring it out.

    Has anybody else noticed:-

One thing I do find a coincidence that this is all going on at the same time as the visit of the PJ to Leicestershire. What a coincidence!

    Timing is remarkable.
